Corazon hat

Corazon means heart in Spanish. It can also mean courage and spirit. When a dear friend shared with me she would be going through chemo treatments and that she would lose her hair, I told her I would make her a hat. I thought of her family, especially her young children and designed Corazon, with three rows of hearts to represent all those who would surround her with love and strength during this challenging time.

Whether you need a little love or just a cute hat to keep you warm, Corazon is a slouchy, comfortable hat that knits up quickly in DK weight yarn.  Make it as a gift or dig into your stash and give yourself a little love! You deserve it!

Materials

YARN

• 127 – 156 yds (116 – 143 m) DK weight yarn
• MC Approximately 82 – 101 yds (74 – 93 m)
• CC Approximately 45 – 55 yds (41 - 51 m)

GAUGE

• 20 sts x 28 rounds over 4” (10 cm) in Hearts pattern with needle size after blocking

NEEDLES

• US 6 (4 mm) circular needle/length 8” or size needed to obtain gauge
• US 6 (4 mm) DPN

• Stitch Markers – make sure 4 are removable markers
• Darning/Tapestry Needle
