I believe sweet foods should be enjoyed as part of a healthy, balanced diet!


That being said, we need to source BETTER ingredients if we want to prioritise our health.

There is no such thing as “Good”and “Bad” foods - but there is such a thing as good and bad ingredients.


Why do we need to bake at home?

Unfortunately ultra-processed sweet foods are often packed with:

  • High amounts of refined sugar - which leads to abnormally high blood sugar levels impacting your stress levels, mood and hormones. Or worse, artificial sweeteners - which kill gut microbes and fructose which burdens the liver/ impacts hormones.
  • High-glycemic (GI)/ sugar refined flours - commonly high in pesticides which damage the gut microbiome. They also disrupt hormonal balance and lead to an increase in belly fat.
  • A lack of fibre - causing an overgrowth of bad bacteria in the gut (impacting immune system), rapid blood sugar spikes that lead to energy crashes and raised cortisol which raises stress levels and can leave you feeling anxious and even depressed.
  • Chemicals and emulsifiers - these irritate the gut lining and weaken the immune system.
  • Unstable, rancid fats - which disturb gut lining, negatively impact hormonal cells, and trigger widespread inflammation in the body.

Hey, I'm Simona - a fully accredited and qualified Naturopathic Health and Nutrition Coach (Dip_CNM).

After the birth of my son in 2020, I was struggling  with chronic gut issues, brain-fog, hormonal imbalances, chronic viral infections, pelvic pain, excessive weight gain, new allergies, skin rashes, anxiety and depression.
