Varvara Beanie

This hat is the perfect companion to my Varvara Pullover!

Designed in two sizes, it uses different needle sizes to achieve the fit you prefer.

The easy Fair Isle motif makes it an ideal project if you’d like to practice the colorwork before casting on the pullover.

Required amount of yarn – colors MC/CC (without pompom)

Size1: approx. 88/70m, 96/77yds

Size2: approx. 95/80m, 104/88yds

Knitting needles 1(2)

3.5mm/US4 (3.75mm/US5) for the ribbing of the hat

4mm/US6 (4.5mm/US7) for the body of the hat

Tapestry needle – to weave in ends

Fur pompom or pompom maker to make your own pompom

Gauge

Size 1: 23sts X 28 rows = 4”, with 4mm/US6 needles, in stockinette stitches (after blocking)

Size 2: 22sts X 27 rows = 4”, with 4.5mm/US7 needles, in stockinette stitches (after blocking)

Check your gauge for proper sizing. Increase or decrease your needles until proper gauge is met.
