This guide originally began as a collection of recommendations for friends and family visiting the South Coast. After sharing it countless times, I decided it was worth sharing with everyone.

I’ve also included some practical things I wish I’d known when I first arrived, along with the local surf instructors I genuinely recommend.

Most recommendations are centred around Ahangama, Midigama, Weligama, Mirissa and Madiha, with a small collection of favourites in Hiriketiya too.
