1. Quality Check — Does this chapter read like a human wrote it? Is the tone right? Did you stick to the outline?
2. Plot Hole Checker — Logic gaps, character knowledge violations, setup/payoff tracking
3. Timeline Consistency — Days, weeks, seasons, travel time, character ages
4. Line Edit — Weak verbs, filter words, echoes, AI-isms, the banned list
5. Dialogue Polish — Character voice differentiation, subtext, banter, exposition dumps
6. Heat Scene Edit — Emotion over mechanics, heat calibration, character voice during intimacy
7. Developmental Edit — The Slash Editor pass. Does this scene earn its place? Cut what doesn't serve the story.
8. Voice Audit — Does chapter 20 sound like chapter 1? AI drift detection and pen name calibration.
Why this order?
Structure first, prose second, calibration last. You do not polish a sentence in a scene with a plot hole you are going to rewrite. You do not calibrate voice before the Slash Editor decides what stays.
