The Great Yeti Hunt: A Winter Mystery Game

Looking for a winter activity your middle school students will actually get excited about? Skip the worksheets and predictable holiday activities.

Welcome to The Great Yeti Hunt—an immersive winter mystery game where students work together to uncover the hidden Yetis before Frost Hollow Village disappears beneath the ice! Designed specifically for middle school, this highly engaging social deduction game builds communication, teamwork, critical thinking, and classroom community while keeping every student invested from beginning to end.

What Is The Great Yeti Hunt?

The annual Winter Festival has arrived in Frost Hollow Village.

Lanterns glow.

Snowpeople celebrate.

Peppermint cocoa fills the air.

Everything seems perfect...

Until the Yetis arrive.

By day, the Yetis blend in with the other snowpeople, laughing, celebrating, and hiding in plain sight.

But when darkness falls...

They secretly freeze innocent villagers one by one.

Fortunately, the village isn't defenseless.

The Doctor uses ancient winter magic to protect villagers from the Yetis' icy attacks, while the Sheriff searches for clues to uncover who is hiding behind an innocent snowperson smile.

Can your class uncover every Yeti before Frost Hollow Village is lost forever?

How It Works:

The Great Yeti Hunt is a whole-class social deduction game designed to build classroom community through storytelling, teamwork, strategy, and discussion.

1. Assign Roles

Choose 2–3 Yetis (depending on class size), 1 Doctor, 1 Sheriff, and everyone else becomes a Snowperson.

2. Follow the Story

Project the digital slides for directions and guide students through each round using the included five-night narration scripts as the mystery unfolds.

3. Investigate & Discuss

Students analyze clues, defend themselves, share suspicions, and vote to discover the hidden Yetis before the Yetis outnumber the remaining Snowpeople.

4. Build Community

As students play, they naturally practice communication, collaboration, problem-solving, perspective-taking, and respectful discussion, all while having an unforgettable classroom experience.
