Millimodel LYS2 Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway passenger train

Millimodel LYS2 set Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway passenger train. 1/200 scale.

This is a 2006 designed card kit with later updates to cut out and assemble which builds to a complete passenger train measuring approximately 12” long with included track base. Comprising Aspinall 2-4-2T locomotive, Leeds-Bradford-Liverpool (LBL) three coach set and track base. This model represents a typical short passenger train circa 1911. Longer trains could be formed of multiple 3 coach sets.

One of this class of locomotives is preserved, the first of the class, number 1008, and is currently at the Bury museum near the East Lancashire Railway, not in working order.

The model follows the style of the 1940s and 1950s Micromodels railway kits, which comprised six postcards contained in a paper wrapper.

The paper wrapper (page 1) has the instructions which you only need to print out if you wish to present the kit in the unbuilt form.

These model kits are intended for experienced modellers and are detailed and small in size. Good eyesight or magnification is required and steady hands!

Millimodels are intended to fill some of the gaps in the Micromodels railways range, with railways that were not represented by them and also some of the smaller subjects. In addition, it has been decided to make some sets, at least, as whole trains rather than sets of locomotives.
