Chevron Illusion Hat & Mittens

This hat and mitten pattern is worked in worsted-weight yarn and features an easy two-color stranded colorwork design as well as lots of Latvian Braids! Alternating the color choices between the two keeps things interesting (and uses almost all of the two skeins of yarn).

The pattern also includes a few links to video tutorials for some of the special techniques.

Needles:
HAT: US 7 [4.5 mm] 16 in [40 cm] circular needle and DPNs (or other needles for working a small circumference in the round) or size needed to obtain gauge
US 8 [5 mm] 16 in [40 cm] circular needle or one size larger than main needle

MITTENS: US 6 [4 mm] DPNs (or other needles for working a small circumference in the round) or size needed to obtain gauge

Julie Asselin Journey Worsted (200 yds/185 m, 4 oz/115 g, 80% Rambouillet & 20% Targhee): 1 skein each Fleurs & Naturel

Worsted weight yarn [Craft Yarn Council Medium 4] - 200 yds [185 m] each in two contrasting colors

Gauge: 
HAT: 20 sts & 28 rnds = 4 in [10 cm] in Stockinette stitch using US 7 [4.5 mm] needles

MITTENS: 21 sts & 30 rnds = 4 in [10 cm] in Stockinette stitch using US 6 [4 mm] needles
