3.5 hour training - £90 + VAT (6 months' access)
The Integrative Centre for OCD Therapy are pleased to bring you this on-demand training with Alex Habens and centre director Jonny Say In integrating Compassion Focused Therapy for OCD: Harnessing the power of Compassion to enhance therapeutic outcomes with OCD.
This training explores how Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) can enhance treatment for Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), a condition often marked by intrusive thoughts, compulsive behaviours, and deep feelings of shame, self-criticism, and fear of judgment. While established approaches such as CBT, ERP, and ACT are effective, many clients struggle with the emotional intensity of OCD, which can hinder progress. CFT addresses this by helping individuals develop a more compassionate and supportive relationship with themselves, targeting underlying processes like threat sensitivity and shame.
Designed for therapists and professionals working with OCD, the training combines presentations, discussions, demonstrations, and experiential exercises. Participants will learn how to integrate CFT into existing therapeutic approaches, strengthen the therapeutic relationship, respond sensitively to common OCD challenges, and support clients dealing with high levels of shame.
The workshop is led by experienced practitioners Alex Habens and Jonny Say, both specialists in OCD who integrate CFT with other evidence-based therapies. Drawing on professional expertise and lived experience, they provide practical tools and insights to improve clinical outcomes.
