Winter Frosting
Winter Frosting is the wonderful result of a collaboration with Eden Cottage Yarns. It uses the same yarn as in my Winterlicious sweater.

Winter Frosting is a wonderful cozy brioche beanie.
* Knit in the round, it starts out with a folded 1 x 1 rib with tubular cast on to give extra coziness and snug fitting around the forehead.
* You are then introduced to one colour brioche followed by two colour.
* Wear it with or without a pom pom. You decide!

All measurements taken with relaxed fabric, unblocked and unstretched.

100g (225m/245yds, 75% Merino, 25% Silk).

One skein each of MC and CC.

Please note PomPom yarn is an approx extra 10g of each colour to make an approx. 8.75cm/ 3.5” diameter pompom.
NEEDLES
3.75mm/US 5 40cm/16” circular needle and/or a set of DPNs (if using magic loop then choose longer length circular needles) for your preferred method of knitting in the round, for the Brim. Adjust needle size to match gauge.
3.5mm/US 4 40cm/16” circular needle and/or a set of DPNs (if using magic loop then choose longer length circular needles) for your preferred method of knitting in the round, for the tubular cast on and brioche body. Adjust needle size to match gauge, noting that this needle should be 0.25mm/ 1 US needle size smaller than the larger when gauge is met.
Stitch markers (6 total; 1 unique; 1 removable)
Tapestry/Darning needle
GAUGE
32 sts x 30 rnds = 10cm x 10cm/ 4”x 4” in 1 x 1 rib, on largest needles, worked in the round, unblocked and unstretched.
NOTES FOR CONSTRUCTION
This hat is knit from the brim up, in the round using a 1 x 1 Tubular Cast on. Video instruction for this, see page 3 Techniques.
