Nickel Boys Flixtor: Elwood (Ethan Herisse) is a bright young man in the 1960s who grew up close to Tallahassee, Florida. To guarantee a better future in the Jim Crow South, he lives with Nana (Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor), follows his school schedule, and gets assistance from Mr. Hill (Jimmie Falls), a teacher who recognizes something unique in the kid and encourages him to enroll in a technical college. Elwood takes a trip north on his way to the program, only to discover that he is traveling with a person the police are trying to track down. Elwood caught up in a web of injustice, is sent to Nickle Academy, a reform school, where he meets other teenagers battling emotional issues while being looked after by administrator Spencer (Hamish Linklater). Elwood, confined to a harsh system with no way out, loses his soul while confined to a prison without access to Nana. He soon makes friends with Turner (Brandon Wilson), a kind person experiencing the same thing, and the two of them grow closer as they hope for a better future.
