One day I had an interesting artistic idea to hybridize the aesthetics of 2D pixel art and 3D digital sculptures and thus was born the idea of "The Porcelain Pixel" (a collection of pixel art sculptures).

Essentially, to make these I first create digital sculptures in highly expressive 3D modeling software (typically resulting in models with hundreds of thousands or millions of polygons) and then gradually transform renderings of those sculptures (taken from multiple angles) into pixel art using a combination of several techniques.

I previously used to display these sculptures freely in a gallery, but now I place them behind Payhip's transaction wall to prevent bots from constantly scrapping them every daily. That will also make me feel more comfortable creating and sharing more of them in the future.

The constant prospect of having one's self-expression plagiarized by bots is a massive demotivator for many creative people, myself included. Having a partial defense against helps at least, since far fewer bots can bypass transaction walls.

Currently (as of 2025-04-22) there aren't many pixel art sculptures in here yet (just two), but I hope to add more over time, though I have many competing creative ideas and am spread thin most of the time.

I plan to only display a sampling of a few of the images in the preview gallery on this page, even as more are added later, to protect most such images from scrapping. The alternative angles are already hidden.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy these in the meantime! I think it is a fun idea, even though there's not many yet.
