Christmas Art Project Christmas Tree Art Activity Word Art Christmas Art Lesson
In this Christmas Tree Art Project, students use mixed media (paint, felt markers and text-based design) to create a Christmas tree art piece. It is made for classroom teachers, art teachers and homeschoolers who want a creative lesson before the holiday break.
Students brainstorm holiday words and work them into a textured, festive background behind their tree. The finished artwork can also be used for card-making.

HOW TO USE IT
Look over the lesson plan for the steps and materials, and gather the materials in advance. Photocopy the step-by-step handouts and rubrics. You may want to make a sample yourself using the visual and text step-by-steps so you are ready to help students.
Print the example in color and show it before the lesson as your hook. Then project the step-by-step pages on a digital projector or document camera for students to follow, or use them as your guide while you demonstrate. Every step has both a picture and a text description, so students know exactly what to do.
