The Effective Leader is a transformational four-week online leadership-development course designed for current and emerging leaders who desire to lead with greater character, competence, confidence, influence, and effectiveness.
Whether you serve in business, government, ministry, education, law enforcement, the corporate sector, or entrepreneurship, this course will equip you with practical strategies to lead yourself, develop others, communicate effectively, navigate change, and produce sustainable results.
Participants will examine the foundations of effective leadership, identify their personal leadership strengths and development areas, create an intentional growth plan, strengthen their communication and influence, and develop a practical 90-day leadership action plan.
Week 1: Becoming an Effective Leader
The Foundation of Effective Leadership
This foundational session answers the important question: What makes a leader truly effective?
Participants will explore:
- The difference between leadership, position, title, authority, and influence
- Why effective leadership begins with self-leadership
- The characteristics and habits of effective leaders
- Character, competence, credibility, and consistency
- Understanding your personal leadership style
- Identifying your leadership strengths and development gaps
- Why people willingly follow some leaders but resist others
- The importance of values, integrity, accountability, and personal responsibility

Week 2: Growing and Improving Your Leadership
The Growth-Minded Leader

Participants will explore:

- The relationship between leadership growth and organizational growth
- Moving beyond experience into intentional improvement
- Developing a personal leadership-growth plan
- The importance of teachability, humility, and self-awareness
- Receiving feedback without becoming defensive
- Learning from failure, mistakes, setbacks, and disappointment
- Identifying habits and mindsets that limit leadership effectiveness
- Moving from potential to measurable performance
- Developing the discipline and consistency required for continued growth
This session will also incorporate principles from John C. Maxwell’s The 15 Invaluable Laws of Growth, providing participants with a practical framework for intentional personal and leadership development.

The Influential Leader

Participants will explore:
- The difference between authority and influence
- Why communication is a core leadership competency
- Communicating vision, expectations, and direction with clarity
- Listening as an essential leadership skill
