A little bit of nostalgia, a little bit of texture, and a whole lot of fun — just like the beloved childhood game that inspired them.

Remember rolling the dice, climbing the ladders, and hoping you wouldn’t land on a chute? These playful socks bring that same sense of anticipation to your knitting with a rhythmic texture that dances up and down the leg. Vertical columns of “ladders” and “slides” create an engaging fabric that keeps your hands happily moving from cuff to toe.

Chutes & Ladders Socks begin with a classic 1x1 half twisted rib cuff, finished with a cheerful contrast color for the perfect little pop. The textured pattern flows seamlessly from the ribbing, creating a satisfying knit with just enough interest to keep things exciting.

Designed with my signature easy-to-construct and beautifully fitting boomerang heel, these socks offer a comfortable fit with a simple construction that makes them enjoyable to knit and wear.

A final touch of contrast color and texture brings the design home before finishing with a classic wedge toe — the perfect ending to this playful little adventure.

So grab your needles, choose your colors, and take a trip back to game night… where every stitch is a step toward the finish line.

SIZE NOTE: sizes can be customized by changing needle/gauge. For instance, I personally knit 64 stitch socks on a 2.25mm for a tighter gauge that fits me better. Instructions are included for selecting your size.

YARDAGE NOTE: Socks vary extremely from person to person so yardage is really just a guesstimate. Allow extra if you are unsure.
