ANIMALS COMPREHENSIVE UbD UNIT PLAN - 3RD/4TH GRADE

The Ubd unit on Animals is a comprehensive and interdisciplinary educational curriculum that focuses on the study of animals. Ubd stands for Understanding by Design, which is a framework that emphasizes essential questions, enduring understandings, and authentic assessments.

By the end of the unit, students should have a deep understanding of the animal kingdom, its diversity, adaptations, behaviors, and ecological significance. They should be able to apply their knowledge to analyze and evaluate real-life animal-related issues and make informed decisions regarding conservation, ethics, and human-animal interactions.

This is a life science unit plan. It is developed using Understanding By Design framework and can be used over a 4 week period.

This science unit is best suited for 3rd and 4th grade students. Unit includes enduring questions, what students should learn and various tasks and assessments to be used throughout the unit.
