Ghost Engines in the Pine
Ghost Engines in the Pines
A story song about the abandoned Eagle Lake and West Branch Railroad deep in Maine’s North Woods. “Ghost Engines in the Pines” follows the remarkable story of two massive steam locomotives hauled through the wilderness in the 1920s to move pulpwood across a thirteen mile railroad, only to be abandoned when the operation ended. Nearly a century later, the two iron giants still sit in the woods as the Maine forest slowly grows around them.
