Pub Cellar Log App

Your brewery rep asks for the line cleaning record and it is in a damp notebook behind the kegs. Pub Cellar Log keeps every cellar check, line clean and cask sell-by date in one offline app, with a dashboard that tells you what to do today and a print-out ready when someone asks.

For UK pub licensees, cellar managers, micropubs, taprooms, clubs and hotel bars. Not for you if you need cloud sync between several devices, or an app on iPhone or iPad.

Works offline in any desktop browser (Windows, Mac, Chromebook) and on Android. iPhone and iPad are not supported yet.

What it does for you

• Daily cellar check: read the thermometer, see In range or Out of range (default 11–13 °C, the Cask Marque target, editable)
• 8 cellar checks based on Cask Marque guidance, each OK, Problem or N/A. A problem or a warm cellar needs the action you took before you can save
• Line cleaning log: which lines, who cleaned them, the cleaner used, contact time and a 6-step checklist (PPE, fresh solution, pull through, flush, couplers, CATT taste test)
• Next clean date for every line (default every 7 days). Overdue or never-cleaned lines turn red
• Lines and casks: what is on each line and when it was broached, with sell-by flags (default 3 days)
• NEW in v5: Trends dashboard with charts of daily checks per week (last 8 weeks) and days since each line was cleaned, plus the 14-day temperature chart. Every chart has a text version for screen readers
• NEW in v5: Add line cleans and cask sell-by dates to Google, Outlook or Apple Calendar with one .ics file
• NEW in v5: Full keyboard use, screen-reader labels, a skip link and high-contrast colours (tested against WCAG 2.2 AA with axe)
• Records: every check and clean with filters, problems and actions; open, edit or delete any record
• Printable A4 cellar log for any period with signature lines; CSV export for Excel or Google Sheets
• JSON backup and restore, a date format setting (DD/MM/YYYY, MM/DD/YYYY or YYYY-MM-DD) and demo data to practise with

How it works (3 steps)

1. Open the app and try the demo pub, then press Use my data and fill in Setup: your pub, staff, cellar range and cleaning interval (about 5 minutes)
2. Each day, do the cellar check (about 1 minute). When you clean the lines, tick the lines and steps and save
3. Check the Dashboard for what is due, add the cleans to your calendar, and print the log or export CSV when your brewery, pub company or an EHO asks

Compatibility

• Tested in Google Chrome on a desktop (1440 px wide) and on Android phone sizes (390 px and 360 px wide)
• Also runs in current Edge and Firefox, and Safari on Mac
• Not iPhone or iPad yet: Safari on iOS cannot keep the app data from a downloaded file reliably, so we do not support it
• One self-contained file: no installation, no account, no subscription, nothing is sent over the internet

Good to know

• Your records are saved in the browser on the device you use. Download a backup (JSON) regularly and use it to move to another device
• The default checks and targets follow Cask Marque's published cellar tips and Butcombe Brewery's line cleaning guide. Follow your brewery's or line cleaner maker's instructions for your own equipment
• One business licence: use it on as many devices in your pub as you like
• FAQ: Can two people use it on different devices? Each device keeps its own records. Use one shared device behind the bar, or move data with backup and restore.
• FAQ: Does it connect to my thermometer or cooler? No. You type the reading in.
• FAQ: Is it a legal requirement? Cleaning records are expected by breweries, pub companies and schemes like Cask Marque; the app is a record-keeping aid, not legal advice.

Pub Cellar Log is a record-keeping aid. It does not replace your brewery's or equipment supplier's instructions, the safety data sheet for your line cleaner, or your own food safety and health and safety procedures. It does not connect to any thermometer or cellar equipment. Default targets come from Cask Marque's published cellar guidance and can be changed in Setup. All names in the demo data are fictional.
