These are worked all in one with no seaming - started in the round like a toe-up sock, then worked flat. Clever shaping creates the classic ballet slipper shape. Extra small, (Small, Medium, Large, Extra Large)
Finished sole length approximately:
3.5, (4, 4.5, 5, 5.5)” | 9, (10, 11.5, 12.5, 14) cm
Size will vary according to yarn selection and personal gauge.
MATERIALS:
--Approx. 10-25g fingering weight yarn
--US #1 | 2.25 mm needles or size needed to obtain gauge
--Tapestry needle
--Stitch marker
GAUGE | TENSION:
Gauge is not critical, but it will affect the finished size of the booties. You are aiming for a fairly dense, rather than a loose, knitted fabric.
Approx. 32 sts = 4” | 10 cm in stockinette stitch.
SKILLS NEEDED:
Techniques include knit, purl, increases and decreases, slipped stitches, short rows, knitting in the round, casting on, binding off.
