The author is a shepherdess whose life is shaped by daily, attentive presence among her sheep. Through years of walking the fields, observing the flock and learning their quiet language, she has developed a deep respect for sheep as intelligent, emotionally complex beings, as individuals rather than abstractions.

Her work is based not in theory alone, but in relationship. For her, shepherding is an ongoing, conversation, carried out through patience, steadiness and careful listening. When she is not among her flock, she writes from the same place she shepherds, slowly, attentively and with deep respect for the lives she shares the land with.
