Coloring Bookmarks Printable Bookmarks To Color Reading Activity Early Finishers
These Coloring Bookmarks are a low-prep printable for teachers, art teachers and homeschoolers who want a calm coloring activity that ends with something students can keep and use. Students color one of 9 original, hand-drawn bookmark designs, then take their finished bookmark to the library, use it in reading groups or keep it in their own books.
The designs include an alien scene, flowers and a bird, a dragon, an underwater fish scene, an abstract heart, a graffiti-style bookmark, a mouse, a bold READING bookmark and a tree and raindrop design. Because the finished page becomes a real bookmark, it feels more special than a standard coloring sheet.
WHAT TEACHERS ARE SAYING
★★★★★ “Using these for my 7th-grade ELA classes. Some designs were a bit young, but they loved the ones I printed for them to color. Printed on white card stock then laminated to make them last longer. Would love to see additional designs geared toward middle and high school students (everyone loves to color!)” Fiona G.
WHAT'S INCLUDED (NON-EDITABLE PDF)
- 1 cover page
- Thumbnail preview pages showing the bookmark designs
- 1 teacher information and how-to-use page
- 9 printable bookmark designs, arranged 4 per page for easy photocopying, coloring and cutting
HOW TO USE IT
Photocopy and cut, or print onto cardstock for stronger bookmarks. Students can color and then laminate them, and you can hole punch the tops and tie a ribbon through for extra personality. Students can use pencil crayon, crayon, felt, watercolor paint, chalk pastel, oil pastel or any medium you like. The teacher page encourages students to fill in each part individually rather than rushing through large spaces with one color.
Use them as an early finisher or “when you’re done” activity, for reading groups, library time, art centers, quiet work, sub plans or homeschool reading and art time. Students practice fine motor control, careful coloring, creative color choices and quiet independent work.
