Math is everywhere

 One of the disservices of modern education is connfining math to a piece of paper.

We have taught children that math is an

artificial chore invented by teachers. We prefer to think of it differently:

math wasn’t invented so much as it was discovered — it’s the language

nature uses to design the universe.

When you take a walk in the park, you are walking through a living lesson in geometry, symmetry, and fractions.

When children start to see that

numbers are hiding in the petals of a flower, the trunk of a tree, and the

shadow of the sun, math can stop feeling like a worksheet and start feeling

like a treasure hunt. Let’s head to the park and see how math scales from

ages two through eighteen.
