EH Mission: Necessary Sky

NECESSARY SKY

A Mission for the Enhanced Heroes RPG

Sixty-six million years ago, a rock ten kilometers wide came out of the dark toward a shallow sea, and everything you have ever loved is downstream of it landing.

In the timeline you are going to, it misses.

You will arrive expecting a jungle. You will find a rail line, a timetable, and a stationmaster who offers you tea. You will find harbors and foundries and law courts. You will find a crèche yard where forty hatchlings are learning a counting song, and you will walk past it, because you have somewhere to be.

Somewhere in the sky above the Concord of Anu is a machine that should not exist, given to a people who cannot build it, by something that wanted them to live.

Your orders are to make sure it fails.

Forty-one days. A civilization that has done nothing wrong. No way home until the sky falls the way it was always supposed to.

Nobody is going to tell you this is right. They are only going to tell you it is necessary.
