Candy heart pillow - Tunisian crochet pattern

About the pattern

Crochet a soft and squishy heart pillow by using Tunisian crochet stitches and the quick-working fleece-like super chunky yarn. This is a perfect item for decorating for Valentine's day or for gifting to a loved one for this lovely occasion.

Skill level

This pattern is suitable for experienced beginners and intermediate Tunisian crocheters.

Materials

• Yarn: about 200 grams of Pipsqueak or similar yarn (at 110 meters per 100 grams) for a pillow that’s 35 cm by 35 cm in width and height (about 14″ by 14″) and about 14 cm in thickness when stuffed well (about 5.5″).

• Hook: 8 mm hook with a long shaft - either a straight long Tunisian crochet hook, or one with a cable (the shortest cable if you have interchangeable hooks);

• Regular hook for seaming - 6 mm;

• Tapestry needle;

• Scissors;

• Filling - pillow stuffing, about the quantity needed for a 50 cm by 50 cm or 19.5"

by 19.5" pillow insert (get an insert and unravel one side, use the stuffing for the pillow;

Low vision version

The second file included in this pattern is made for low vision use. These are the characteristics:

• 24 point Arial font; 28 point and bold for headings;
• black text, white background;
• left justified, 1 inch margins;
• no columns;
• page numbers bottom left;
• no charts;
• all abbreviations explained in the list.
