A Lovecraftian noir short story

It's Arkham. Another abandoned house on the edge of town isn't worth paying attention to. Private detective Lazarus Core wouldn't bother with the place himself, but he's tracking down a runaway, and the trail has led him to this place. But something's wrong with this house. That's clear even before he’s caught sneaking around by his rival.

Harlan Thompson is the most dangerous man in the city, leader of the local crime organization called the Pharaoh Syndicate. He knows things. Impossible, sinister things, things no human should know. And he's willing to use this information against his enemies. Harlan shows Lazarus what appears to be a failed ritual and demands Lazarus figure out what happened. Lazarus can't refuse; Harlan’s got his gun. But as music floats through the rooms, and the infestation becomes clear, Lazarus gets the sinking feeling there's more to all of this than he originally expected...

A Pharaoh Syndicate Investigations short story. Set in the Cthulhu Mythos, this series focuses on the adventures of Lazarus Core and Carmine Mason as they fight back against the criminal organization controlling Arkham, and face down all the horrific cosmic nightmares that await.
