Flammentanz (“Dance of Flames”) is a garden rose variety with this beautiful deep-red color and soft petals whose shape reminds me of the pattern on the neckline of this sweater. This is why I decided to give this name to my new seamless top-down sweater with round yoke made in the very beautiful Malabrigo Sock yarn.
The picture shows size XS.

YARN:
Malabrigo Sock (100 % merino wool), 402 m / 440 yd in 100 Gr, 220 (250, 300, 320, 350, 370, 400) Gr. I used colorway “Tiziano Red” (SW800).

NEEDLES:
2.5 mm/U.S. size 1.5 100 cm/40” circular needles
2.5 mm/U.S. size 1.5 60 cm/24” dpns or your preferred needles for knitting small circumference in the round (neck)
3 mm/U.S. size 2.5 100 cm/40” circular needles, or size needed to obtain gauge
3 mm/U.S. size 2.5 dpns or your preferred needles for knitting small circumference in the round (sleeves)

NOTIONS:
Stitch holders or waste yarn, Main Marker and smaller markers for chart sections, tapestry needle or crochet hook to weave in ends, cable needle

GAUGE:
27 sts/38 RNDs = 10 cm/4” square in stockinette stitch on 3 mm/U.S. size 2.5 needles after blocking

PATTERN NOTES:
• I strongly recommend swatching for the lace pattern and if you notice that it is looser than the stockinette stitch, please use smaller needles for working the lace section of your sweater!
• The sweater is worked in one piece top down. You start with neck band/ribbing, then work neck shaping with short rows and then continue working in the round. After the round yoke, you separate the sleeves and the body and continue working them separately.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

basics (cast on/bind off, knit/purl, increase/decrease)
short rows
working in the round
working from a chart
