This straightforward lace pattern works up into a lovely blanket, ideal for any new baby. Use fingering weight yarn to create a delicate baby blanket or create a larger, sturdier-looking blanket by working it up in aran weight yarn. Either way, this blanket is sure to become a great favourite!
Finished Size:
Baby Blanket – 72 cm / 28.5 inches wide x 92 cm / 36 inches long.
Small Throw – 87 cm / 34.5 inches wide x 125 cm / 49 inches long.
Materials Needed:
Baby Blanket
Approximately 800 m / 875 yards of fingering weight yarn. Sample was made with a custom-dyed sock yarn (75% Merino wool / 25% nylon).
3.5 mm / US 4 circular needles, 80 cm / 32 inches in length.
Small Throw
Approximately 850 m / 930 yards of aran weight yarn. Sample was made with Custom Woolen Mills Mule Spinner 2-Ply in Jade Heather (100% Canadian Wool).
5.5 mm / US 9 circular needles, 80 cm / 32 inches in length.
A tapestry needle or crochet hook for weaving in ends.
2 stitch markers (optional).
A kitchen or yarn scale is recommended
