When They Win, We Win
This much I know... EVERY parent wants their scholar/ athlete to be successful, and that often looks like WINNING.
Over 30 years, of teaching and coaching students and adults in a wide range of environments has proven time and time again that, it is not enough to be in school or on the team that wins, there must be some enduring life lessons taught and transferred to students by adults that will carry with the student far beyond graduation. For example, "Excellence is worth striving for", in order to be competitive in college and career one must not settle for the comfort of mediocrity. This principle, "Excellence is worth striving for", must be reinforced in curriculum, and tested during practices to get the short and long term results we want from the child. In this book I share personal experiences to support the concept that you can build on. This is just one of the 100 invaluable cardinal life lessons featured here that helped me and the thousands of other students that I worked with WIN. Each lesson is worthy of discussion and debate. Grab a topic and start the conversation.
Any mentor, coach, counselor, teacher, or educator can extract opportunities to share these principles with young people to ensure the child's success. At the end of the day, I am confident that our society needs scholars and or athletes to WIN far beyond the moments we engage them. It starts When They Win, We Win.
