The Gatekeeper Of Souls
THE GATEKEEPER OF SOULS
A Solthara Film · 22 minutes
Before the first soul ever crossed into life, he held the door. Now he has to forget it to save it.
Here's the pitch. Azrael is a twelve-winged being who guards the threshold between everything and nothing. He chooses to be born into a broken home, a failing marriage, a prison cell, and an empty apartment at 3 AM. He has to lose every human thing he loves before he can remember what he is.
Twenty-two minutes, no filler. Every frame is hand-built cosmic anime: golden halls of drifting souls, Michael's sapphire fire, a Babylonian ritual chamber where the shadows don't match the men casting them. Then it drops you into a quiet kitchen where a man pours tea for the woman he's about to lose. That contrast is the film. It's Your Name tenderness colliding with the scale of Evangelion, and it has a real heart under all the sacred geometry.
Michael and Metatron are always watching. Azrael is never alone, even when he feels like he is. The film ends on a rooftop at dawn with Azrael looking straight into the lens, his hands open, a world below him, and a mission that's only just begun.
It's a story about remembering who you are, and what it costs to find out.
