Joanne Harris talks with Michele Roberts
Joanne Harris (OBE, FRSL) is probably best known for her novel Chocolat, which was made into an Oscar-nominated film starring Juliette Binoche. Yet she has written over twenty more novels, novellas and short stories which have won a number of British and international awards. She will be in discussion with Michèle Roberts, the author of twelve highly acclaimed novels, including The Looking Glass and Daughters of the House (which won the W H Smith Literary Award and was shortlisted for the Booker Prize).
Both writers are half English and half French and they'll be talking about Joanne's latest novel, Vianne, the prequel to Chocolat.
Joanne is an honorary Fellow of St Catharine’s College, Cambridge, has honorary doctorates in literature from the universities of Sheffield and Huddersfield and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature.
Michèle is Emeritus Professor of Creative Writing at the University of East Anglia.
