Monster Mother.pdf
It was a typical morning at the Robinsons. Mother Joanne was in the kitchen, making breakfast for her son Tommy before he headed off to school. She hummed a cheerful tune as she cracked eggs into a bowl.
Suddenly, Tommy burst into the kitchen. "Mom, look what I found!" he exclaimed, holding up a strange looking smartphone. "I think it belongs to you."
Joanne's eyes widened. "Oh goodness, where did you find that?" She took the phone from him gingerly.
Tommy shrugged. "On your nightstand. What is it? Some kind of spy gadget?"
"Um, y-yes, something like that," Joanne stammered, quickly pocketing the phone. "Why don't you wash up for breakfast?"
As soon as Tommy left, Joanne let out a shaky breath. That phone contained a very special app - one that could shrink people down to a tiny size. She had been using it for her...extracurricular activities. Her crush fetish obsession.
Joanne's mind flashed to the exhilarating thrill of a helpless man writhing under her stiletto heel, begging for mercy as she ground him into the dirt. She had to be so careful though. This was a dark secret.
Lost in thought, Joanne almost didn't hear Tommy return. "Mom, I think I'll try out this cool app..."
Her heart leapt into her throat. NO! She watched in horror as Tommy tapped the screen. Suddenly, he vanished in a puff of glittering smoke.
In his place stood a tiny figure, no taller than an inch. Joanne gasped. "Tommy! Oh my god, you foolish boy!"
The tiny Tommy peered up at his gigantic mother towering over him. "Mom? What happened? What is this place?"
Joanne's mind raced as she tried to think of a solution. Maybe she could find a way to reverse it somehow. She would have to be very careful now.
As if reading her thoughts, Tommy piped up hopefully. "Mom, you'll help me, right? I'm scared!"
Joanne forced a smile, though her heart hammered. "Of course, sweetie. Mommy will help you. Just stay right there."
She slowly reached down, the ground miles below her son. But just as her fingers were about to scoop him up to safety...
CRUNCH.
The kitchen tile suddenly gave way under Tommy's weight. He had the misfortune of being directly under Joanne's heel as she lost her balance. She felt something fragile snap under her shoe as she regained her footing.
"Mom!" Tommy cried out. The last sound Joanne ever heard from him.
She stared down in numb horror at the red smear slowly spreading under her shoe. In her panic and shock, she had just...crushed her own son into a bloody pulp. And now the phone was ruined too, the screen shattered.
Joanne collapsed to the floor in anguished sobs, cradling Tommy's pulverized remains. What had she done? Her sick obsession had cost her everything.
She knew she would spend the rest of her life haunted by this terrible guilt. The life she had snuffed out so carelessly, the future she had destroyed.
Joanne had always fantasized about having a tiny man helpless under her shoe. But the horrific reality was so much worse than the fantasy. She had become a monster.
