"Why didn't she leave?" sounds like a simple question, but it places responsibility in the wrong place. Leaving an abusive relationship can involve fear, financial dependence, housing instability, children, isolation, coercive control, threats, and increased danger. This course helps learners replace judgement with understanding and respond to survivors with greater awareness, respect, and support.
Across six modules, you'll explore how abuse operates as a pattern, the real barriers that can affect safety, why leaving is often a process rather than a single moment, how judgement can silence survivors, and what genuinely helpful support looks like. You'll leave with practical language and tools for responding with greater understanding, respect, and survivor-centered support.
