La presente obra fue concebida durante julio de 2020, en medio de los momentos más difíciles del aislamiento. A nivel personal, me resultó muy difícil componer durante aquel tiempo; fue un período marcado por el bloqueo creativo.

Aun así, decidí escribir una pequeña obra para la Semana de las Artes y el Diseño, un evento anual de la Universidad Nacional de Cuyo. Para aquella edición, denominada “Antídoto” y realizada de manera virtual, se me ocurrió componer una pieza para dos violines que pudiera grabar en casa. Como arché, tomé el Dies Irae, una estructura melódica de origen medieval, con el objetivo de transformar aquel himno, tan ligado a un estadio espiritual negativo, en una nueva forma sonora que transfigurara aquel tiempo. El resultado es una obra integrada por cinco breves movimientos: Espacio curvo, Amenaza, Antídoto, Tenerezza y Nuevo camino, cada uno de ellos concebido como una reflexión íntima sobre la realidad que vivía en ese momento.

This work was conceived during July 2020, amid the most challenging moments of the lockdown. On a personal level, I found it very difficult to compose during that time; it was a period marked by creative block.

Nevertheless, I decided to write a small piece for the Semana de las Artes y el Diseño, an annual event at the National University of Cuyo. For that edition, titled "Antídoto" and held virtually, I came up with the idea of composing a piece for two violins that I could record at home. As arché, I took the Dies Irae, a melodic structure of medieval origin, with the goal of transforming that hymn, so closely linked to a negative spiritual state, into a new sound form that would transfigure that time. The result is a work composed of five short movements: Curved Space, Menace, Antidote, Tenerezza, and New Journey, each conceived as an intimate reflection on the reality I was living at that time.
