Halloween Art Project Pumpkin Line Art Lesson FREEBIE for Teachers Homeschool
In this free Halloween Pumpkin Line Art project, students explore the Element of Art: Line as they create a mixed media jack-o'-lantern. It is an easy-to-use art tutorial that helps you plan quickly, teach with confidence and keep students engaged.
The lesson comes with everything students need to complete the piece successfully: a visual and text step-by-step with each step on its own page, a rubric, a lesson plan, a finished example and a student handout.
WHAT TEACHERS ARE SAYING
★★★★ “I used this with a multi grade autism class and I was able to adapt it to the different aged students. They turned out looking so good! I loved the step by step instructions and put it on the SmartBoard.” Laura T.
WHAT'S INCLUDED (PDF)
- Visual and text step-by-step, each step on its own page with a description
- Lesson plan with the materials list
- Rubric for marking
- Finished example
- Step-by-step student handout
Materials: pencil, eraser, black felt marker, 30 step-by-step drawing handouts, orange and yellow paint, card stock and construction paper, oil pastels, paint brush and water.
HOW TO USE IT
Look over the lesson plan to see the steps and the materials you need, and gather them in advance so there is no panic during the lesson. You may want to make a sample yourself first so you can help students later. Photocopy the student handouts, such as the step-by-steps and rubric.
Print the poster sample in color to show students what they are making before you start, as your hook. Then project the PDF, show it under a document camera (best printed in color), or use it as your own guide while you demonstrate. Every step has both a visual and a text description, which keeps things clear for students.
