A. Wiebecke-Gottstein: „Geburtstags-Ständchen“ (8Kb)

Anlass zu diesem Stück war der 50ste Geburtstag von Prof. Günther Klaus. Das Lied „Happy Birthday to you“ wird eingeleitet durch ein Zitat aus dem Kontrabasskonzert von Dittersdorf, bevor es „walzernd“ und in Dur und Moll erklingt und zwischendrin von „Hoch soll er leben“ unterbrochen wird, bis es mit festlichem Choral-Charakter endet. Das Ganze dauert gerade mal drei Minuten und ist so gehalten, dass es vom professionellen Kontrabassisten auch ohne größere Vorbereitung gespielt werden kann. Das Ständchen ist die Gelegenheit, einem Kollegen einmal im Jahr einen musikalischen Blumenstrauß zu überreichen. Erhältlich ist es auch in Arrangements für 2, 4, 5, und 6 Kontrabässe.

The occasion for this piece was the 50th birthday of Prof Günther Klaus. The song "Happy Birthday to you" is introduced by a quote from Dittersdorf's double bass concerto, before it "waltzes" in major and minor keys and is interrupted in between by "Hoch soll er leben" until it ends with a festive chorale character. The whole piece lasts just three minutes and is written in such a way that it can be played by a professional double bass player without much preparation. The serenade is an opportunity to present a colleague with a musical bouquet of flowers once a year. It is also available in arrangements for 2, 4, 5 and 6 double basses.
