Description:

The Level 2 Diploma in Beauty Therapy Studies is a qualification that has been specifically designed to develop your practical skills by covering the following mandatory units;

facial skincare, waxing, eyelash and eyebrow treatments, manicure, pedicure, client care and health and safety, retail stock display & the creative skill of nail art.

You will also develop knowledge and

understanding of the practical skills learned throughout this qualification. The purpose of this qualification is to develop your skills in beauty therapy to a high level of occupational ability, to

enable you to perform your own salon services.

This qualification is completed through the exam board - The VTCT (Vocational training and charitable trust); and is Ofqual regulated.

Unit UV20483 – Follow health & safety practice in the salon,
Unit UV20453 – Client care and communication in beauty-related industries,
Unit UV20398 – Provide facial skin care,
Unit UV20418 – Remove hair using waxing techniques,
Unit UV20419 – Provide eyelash & brow treatments,
Unit UV20470 Provide manicure treatments,
Unit UV20471 – Provide pedicure treatments,
Unit UV20472 – Apply nail art
Unit UV20490 – Display stock
Unit UV20489 - Salon reception duties

Duration:

GLH (Guided Learning Hours): 359. (GLH incl’s. practical, coursework, case studies, assessments, research/reading, revision, written exams)
Home study (Coursework): This is completed in your own time
Practical Training: Please check out our current course dates on our website for the practical training element, additional dates can be supplied.

Attendance:

14 classroom days (ALL dates must be attended)

+ monthly video calls for coursework support (dates tbc)

Model required:

Yes, you will be required to work on models to carry out your case studies at home.
You may be required to bring a model for one to one training, and for your assessments

Case Studies:

You must carry out and document evidence of a minimum of 4 treatments per subject

Beauty therapist - employed or self-employed, working in a salon or spa or as a home / mobile therapist.

Additional Costs:

You will need to purchase your own kits to bring to the training & in order to carry out your case studies, ie manicure/pedicure kit, facial kit, tinting kit, nail art kit, waxing kit
