VIOLENT FRAGMENTATION

The kindly faced prophet in the marketplace;

The dirty handed children collected about him;

An ambush of a slave caravan;

A stolen kiss under the pale moon.

The mournful beast bearing its fangs,

The lover who melted overjoyed,

And sleepless embracing.

Now these are the events which took place in the time of their lives, in the year before the beginning of the end.
