The Journey of Ibn Fadlan eBook
The Journey of Ibn Fadlan is an ancient Arabic manuscript belonging to Ahmed, son of Al-Abbas, and Rashid, son of Hammad Al-Baghdadi, who was an Islamic scholar from the tenth century AD. He wrote a description of his journey as a member of the embassy of the Abbasid Caliph to the king of the Slavs (Volga Bulgars) in the year 921 AD.
This manuscript is considered a valuable reference because it describes the culture and lifestyle of some people in East and North Asia, including Russians, Vikings, Turks, Persians, and Khazars.
