Mr Platypus (Clarinet and Piano)
A piece for clarinet and piano about the platypus.
The Platypus is an Australian, semi-aquatic animal that spends its time in waterways, and its burrow next to the water’s edge. It is classified as a monotreme which means it has fur and lays eggs. When the British first took one home to England they thought they must have stuck together a couple of animals, because they look so unique. A furry animal with a duck like bill, how strange!
The male platypus has venomous spurs on their back legs, but people don’t get close enough to them to get hurt. They are known to be a very shy animal that can sometimes be spotted at sunset.
