This Easter Egg Craft and Write is an art and craft lesson with fiction and non-fiction writing built in. Students follow a tutorial to make an Easter egg craft, then choose from a variety of cut and glue elements to give their design its own personality, so every craft turns out different.

It is perfect for 1st to 5th grade, with adaptable templates for different skill levels. After the craft, students complete writing inspired by it, using planning pages, prompts or blank writing pages, and finish with coloring, reflections and a 3 Stars and a Wish.

HOW TO USE IT

Photocopy the craft elements and put a few out at each table so students can pick the ones they want. Save the unused pieces with the lesson plan for next year, for less prep and less waste. The educator instructions and PowerPoint step-by-step make it easy to teach yourself or leave with a sub.

The primary and intermediate writing pages let you adapt the writing to your learners and age group, and the two rubrics let you adjust expectations.
