My Bucket List Workbook: A Practical Exercise for Designing the Life You Still Have Time to Build

I sat down to write a bucket list not long ago. I expected it to be easy.

Blank page. Cursor blinking. Nothing.

Not because I had no desires. Because when I tried to name them honestly, without performing either ambition or contentment, I realized I was not entirely sure what I actually wanted. That was more unsettling than I expected.

So I did what any reasonable person does: I Googled it. Found thousands of other people's lists. Printed a few out, went through them with a pen, and discovered something that felt slightly absurd and turned out to be genuinely useful.

This workbook is the structured version of that exercise.

It walks you through three things. First, taking inventory of what you have already done. Most of us move through experiences without pausing to register them as things we wanted and then actually had. This part tends to be more satisfying than people expect.

Second, browsing curated starter lists across five categories: Travel, Experiences and Learning, Relationships and Giving Back, Health and Adventure, and Creativity and Legacy. Check off what you have done. Circle what pulls at you. Leave blank what was never yours.

Third, building your real list. Transferring your circles, answering five deeper questions about what you actually want and what is in the way, and writing it in plain language.

This is not a to-do list. It is a conversation you are having with yourself about what your life could still contain.
