Pineapple Art Lesson Summer Art Project Easy Summer Elementary Art Activity
This Pineapple Art Lesson is a bright summer art project for grades 2 to 5 that combines step-by-step drawing, pattern and creative color. Students draw a cartoon-style pineapple with a cute face, then bring it to life with bold color, texture and blended highlights.
The structured drawing builds confidence, and the coloring and blending steps leave room for each student’s own choices, so every pineapple turns out different. It suits elementary art rooms, homeschool art, summer and end-of-year projects, and teachers who are not art specialists.

WHAT STUDENTS LEARN
Students start with simple shapes (eyes, smile, body outline), build the pineapple with arms, legs, leaves and details, then add diagonal lines in both directions to create the crisscross texture. Along the way they practice shape, line and form, pattern and texture, blending and layering color, and the Elements of Art: line, shape, color, space, texture, form and value.
Setup is simple: project the step-by-step instructions, demonstrate as needed, and let students follow along on their own.
