BOOK 1: MINIMALIST LIVING
Cluttered desk? Stuffed closet? Stressed-out life?
Most of us know the weight of too much stuff. We can avoid it for a while, but when it's time to move house or reorganize, we can't escape facing our clutter.
Your excess stuff can hold you back and make you sick. Having stuff we don't use or enjoy is a burden, a waste of money, and importantly, it doesn't spark joy. If your rooms, closets, and surfaces are filled with clutter, all your unneeded possessions can get in the way of a full experience of life as it was meant to be lived.
MINIMALIST LIVING covers not only techniques for decluttering but how doing so can fill your newfound space with meaningful and creative activities that add joy to your life and support your goals.
In MINIMALIST LIVING, you will discover:
Why you should define your own sense of minimalism
How to create your "Minimalist Mission Statement"
How to use the techniques of "blazing" and "gazing" to declutter
Why decluttering now can lead to a happier, healthier, and more creative life
How to deal with sentimental items without losing their meaning
The amazing connection between minimalism and living your soul's deepest purpose
...and much more.
If you want to experience the powerful de-stressing and health benefits of minimalism, get this book now.
"It's not just a book of helpful tips to overcome our tendencies to consume and to hoard; it's a book for anybody who wants to reflect on how they can pursue happiness is a world where everything is conspiring to make us think happiness lies in our power as consumers to buy what we want."
- Dr. Philip J. Harold, Associate Dean, School of Education and Social Sciences, RMU
"Rather than being a strict, cookbook-like guide to doing specific tasks "the right way", the book takes a very personal, psychological, even spiritual look at how the reader can benefit from, think about, and ultimately begin the process of minimizing their worldly possessions."
- Brie Palmer
"If you are on your way to becoming a minimalist (like our family) this book will encourage you to keep going. If you are still living in clutter this book could well be the "kick" you need to really start cleaning out."
- Richard and Liz Pomeroy
You have the power to bring serenity, clarity, creativity, and more joy to your life with MINIMALISTS LIVING.

"The title says it all. It's great advice on simplifying your kitchen or, even better, outfitting a minimalist kitchen to begin with. Having been keeping a home for over 40 years (Yikes! How did that happen?), I wish I'd had this little volume at the outset. But even now, it helps me look at what I have in terms of both equipment and ingredients and showing the many opportunities to scale back. Beside outfitting your kitchen, I love the concept of "un-recipes" giving you great starting points and/or guidelines, but leaving some choices up to the individual. These recipes may be customized in so many ways, changing out the protein, vegetables or starch and varying the spices. There is a LOT of valuable information packed into a small amount of space. The authors wrap up with this quote: "If you only take away one idea from this booklet, we would like it to be this:making delicious food can be simple, easy, and fun." They succeeded in that I did come away with that idea, but also so much more. If, like me, you are overwhelmed by the number of recipes that show up on Facebook, Pinterest...everywhere, read this booklet and rediscover the simple joy of creating, serving and eating real, honest, simple food.
'I received an free advance copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.' The thoughts expressed are entirely my own. gg"

5.0 out of 5 stars What I love about the book is its focus and simplicity

I am an experienced cook and foodie at heart. What I love about the book is its focus and simplicity. After years of building a supply of dishes, gadgets, utensils…etc, it became too much. Having too much and be too much on a person. Thus, I started down the path to minimalize every area of my life. The kitchen seemed a good place to start. I read Simple Kitchen as a preview reader and it was a great reminder to keep things simple. This is a great book for those who want to minimalize, those who are starting out and those who have to cook but only want the bare necessities. It is a fast and easy read, also easy to incorporate into your life. Well worth your time and effort to read. I will recommend this book to family and friends.

Loved the ideas of what to make that was easy. Some unexpected ideas too. I realized I have the same problem with over analyzing every recipe, which has made me hate cooking, too. Seeing that I am not the only one made me relax and enjoy the rest. Will try many of the recipes out. Thanks for the inspiration.

I received an advance copy of this book, which I enjoyed. Streamlining the kitchen and our meals seem like the next step in our minimalizing journey. The booklet gives us the focus to pare down our collection of utensils and also some basic and changeable recipes to move our diet from dull to simple, but tasty. We are anxious to continue this 'new to us' focus. Mashed cauliflower sounds great.

The Wealthy Creative is proving to be a valuable guide to being both creatively and financially successful. I come to the art world after a career in corporate finance. I've found myself gleaning nuggets of gold from the 24 creatives interviewed, as well as from Hill herself. Upbeat, encouraging, valuable.
While I was at first I was disappointed to discover the artists interviewed aren't financially wealthy, I've come to realize there is a wealth of information from creatives who *are* finding ways to create a wealthy life through their art.
The way Hill weaves the interviews together around a theme provides a lot of perspective on topics such as growing and caring for your audience.
I rank The Wealthy Creative right up there with Stephen Pressfield's War of Art, and Austin Klein's Show Your Work.

The Wealthy Creative has been just what I needed to help encourage me back into creating with a purpose. This book is full of sound advice and accessible, uplifting testimony. I truly appreciated the chapter on giving back. This was exactly what a I needed to hear. The genuine voice of Genevieve (the author) is what stayed with me throughout the book. Thank you for your insight and encouragement. I can’t wait to give this a second read! The Wealthy Creative is my new Jiminy Cricket. I highly recommend it.

This book focuses on what sets some creative people apart from others when it comes to being able to pursue their artistic passions full time without worry over survival. While some of the ideas and advice are universal to us, having them presented again through the eyes of others can be the "aha" moment for many of us. Overall, this book is practical and filled with inspiration as well. A big shot of sunshine in the arm.

5.0 out of 5 stars The lifeline some starving artists need
Reviewed in the United States on October 18, 2017
This book is a treasure-trove of practical wisdom for those who are considering a career in the creative arts, or for those already working but struggling to make ends meet in a creative field. Genevieve Parker Hill has done the legwork for you, conducting interviews with 24 "Wealthy Creatives" -- people who are making a living with their creative talents. Some of the advice is not surprising: discipline and perseverance are important. But a big part of the message is refreshing and motivating. It's okay and even necessary to take care of the "business side" as you pursue the "art side."
Full disclosure: I served as the copy editor for this book. However, my compensation does not depend on how the book sells. I was compelled to review by what I felt I learned as I worked on the manuscript. This book could be the lifeline some "starving artists" need.

Reading this book is like having coffee with a friend who truly cares about you. The author is gentle and generous, giving you just enough space to reflect on big questions, before describing a few actionable suggestions per chapter. As I read I highlighted phrases that I intend to write in a journal for review. The author has pulled in bits of wisdom from diverse sources, so you don’t have to read all the articles and books out there on the subject. Just start here and be encouraged.

Ms. Hill has produced a precise but bountiful resource for navigating away from the clutter of life and carving before you the path that leads you toward greater joy. Straightforward advice that often shines with maturity and utility so often missing from so-called self help books. This jewel should be read over several cups of tea. Leave yourself time to absorb her wisdoms.
