YOUR MOLD IS NOT A TOOL. IT IS STOCK, AND YOU ARE CONSUMING IT.

This is for poured casting from silicone molds. If you print resin on an SLA or MSLA

printer, that is a different workbook.

Most resin pricing calculators add up resin, pigment and time. They treat the mold as

equipment you bought once. It is not. It is stock with a life measured in pulls, and the

life is short.

A MOLD HAS A LIFE IN PULLS. Thirty to a hundred pulls and a silicone mold tears, hazes

or loses the detail you bought it for. Heat from an exotherming pour, aggressive demolds

and skipped release all shorten it. A $38 mold rated for 60 pulls with four cavities owes

about sixteen cents per casting. Charge it, and when the mold finally tears you already

have the money for the next one. Skip it, and every replacement comes out of profit you

thought you had.

YOU FIND OUT AT DEMOLD. Bubbles, incomplete fill, a soft or tacky cure and a torn part

are all discovered after the resin is mixed, poured and cured. That resin is spent

whatever comes out, so the good castings have to carry the bad ones.

RESIN IS BOUGHT BY THE KIT AND LOST IN THE CUP. Residue left in the mixing cup, hardened

waste and a batch mixed short never become product. You paid for the whole kit.

CURE TIME IS CAPACITY. A mold sitting in cure is a mold you cannot pull from, and on a

slow deep-pour epoxy that is days. Priced at zero it looks free, and it is the real ceiling

on how much you can make in a week.

PIGMENT ADDS UP QUIETLY. Mica, alcohol ink and glitter are cheap per pour and expensive

per month. Charged by the ounce of resin, they stop being invisible.

MARKETPLACE FEES. You cannot add your margin and then subtract fees. That arithmetic

does not leave you with your margin. The price has to be solved backwards.

On the worked example included, a shop targeting 35% using the standard method actually

earns 14.47%. That one row leaves $3.50 on the table, and the workbook shows that gap

on every row you enter.

WHAT YOU GET

- Job Calculator: 25 rows, full breakdown per casting, correct list price calculated,

plus a column showing exactly what the shortcut would have cost you

- Mold amortization built in: enter the mold cost, its rated pulls and how many cavities

it has, and every casting pays its share automatically

- Setup: pressure pot or chamber, cure power, pigment per ounce, cups and release,

labor, overhead, bad-pull rate, resin yield

- Resin Library: deep pour and art coat epoxy, fast cast and water clear urethane, UV,

polyester, flex 60A and doming resin pre-loaded, costed per USABLE ounce

- Fee Profiles. Etsy, Etsy with Offsite Ads, eBay, Shopify, Amazon Handmade and direct. All editable

- Break-even & What-if: your lowest acceptable price, a volume table showing what

changes when you pull 50 instead of 5, and a grid showing what a wrong bad-pull rate

 costs you

- Sales Log: what you actually sold, against what the model predicted

- Dashboard: four live charts (cost breakdown, correct vs naive vs break-even, cost

and price as the run gets longer, and price against failure rate) that follow whichever

 job row you select

- Start Here: a plain-English guide, color-coded so you know which cells to touch

Works with epoxy, polyurethane, polyester and UV resin, open air or in a pressure pot.

The resin doesn't matter. The cost structure does.

Eight tabs. Works in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets, both tested. Instant digital

download. No macros, no add-ons, nothing to install. Every formula is visible and editable,

and so is the data behind every chart, so you can check the math yourself.

WHO THIS IS FOR

Etsy sellers running coaster, tray, jewellery and keychain lines, prop and cosplay makers

casting small runs, tabletop miniature casters, and anyone who has replaced a mold and

never charged a single casting for it. If you already amortize mold life per pull, you

don't need this.
