“Devil’s Halo”

Devil’s Halo is, I really think, my favourite of the collection. The ancient and on-going battle between good and evil, beaten into a hackneyed cliché by decades of use in horror fiction, is given a new, fresh perspective here. My one and only complaint is that I wished for a slightly different ending. The ending it has wasn’t bad, just mildly unsatisfying. Still, the rest of the tale is well worth the time.

Devil's Halo

The Devil's halo written by JDArmstrong is a short story that is easy to read.
The story is very well organized, some scenarios are described in great detail, and remain interesting until the end.
Normally you have certain expectations about a story with the 'Devil', but I can tell you, this is a very nice variant.
It is a combination of what you would expect (character Boris) but also certainly what you would not expect (character Adrian).
Since Adrian has the lead role, this makes the story much more interesting.
I recommend everyone to read this story. I assure you that you will only stop reading until the end! Talking about the end, it can be surprising !

My first review *spoiler free*

This is my first review of James D Armstrong Devil's Halo.

This is a short horror story that can be read between 15-30 minutes. The story feels fresh and reads easily. It begins very strong. You are hooked from the first sentences as it paints a picture of a story that unravels itself. The words chosen to write has been thought out to make you intrigued. I actually learned some new english words without it being to complicated. (Im orginally Dutch)
In the short time the writer JD make you engaged with the characters. The characters are interesting and has a certain depth. The story contains a couple of nice suprises. Their is a nice pace which make you keep on reading. The ending was overall satisfying but had a little discrepancy with the earlier told story in my humble opinion. That said I did like the course and is very interesting to further explore if their will be sequel or followup.

This is recommended for readers who love horror stories with biblical themes. Also lovers of gore will like this.
