Scamper and Scoot for solo marimba incorporates rapid note alteration, fast and virtuosic scalic runs, surprising rhythmic irregularity and a cheeky hidden quote, all contained within a 3-minute whirlwind that demonstrates the possibilities of 2-mallet marimba playing. It is the third work in Dance Vignettes, a set of three marimba solos composed over the Summer of 2020-21 for Australian percussionist Claire Edwardes.

These works are intended to offer attractive and suitable repertoire options for late high school and early tertiary music students wanting to explore contemporary Australian music.
