Week 2 Lesson Plan- Locomotors (K-1) Cooperation 2-5
Week 2 Lesson Description — Jumping & Cooperation
Students will develop and practice the fundamental locomotor skill of jumping while learning the importance of cooperation. Kindergarten and 1st grade students will learn the cues “Bend, Swing, Land” and practice jumping and landing safely through individual challenges and games such as Toilet Tag and Jump the River. Students will demonstrate safe two-foot jumping and landing to earn their Jump Locomotor License hole punch.
Students in grades 2–5 will focus on cooperative movement and teamwork through group tag and a River Crossing challenge. Students will practice taking turns, communicating, sharing space, and working together to accomplish a common goal.
Adapted PE students will participate in movement-based activities that encourage locomotor skills, body awareness, coordination, and following directions at their individual ability levels.
