My ESL students LOVE these. What better way to engage young learners than by providing a way that they can interact with the text! These task cards allow the students to show their understanding by highlighting clues after reading each passage.

Students will find the topics in this unit engaging and relevant. Each passage includes a set of comprehension questions requiring text based evidence. Each passage also includes graphic organizers for students to record their learning as they complete the close reading process and dig deeper into the text. This also allows ESL students to interact with the text further. If they need more reading opportunities, it is so easy to pull them out again for further practice!
