DESERT DEMON

A Marshal of Magic Urban Fantasy Adventure

The devil doesn't always come with horns and fire. Sometimes he offers you everything you've ever wanted. And all he asks in return is one little word.

Yes.

That's all it takes.

Unfortunately, nobody bothered to tell the people of a forgotten Arizona desert town.

I'm the Marshal of Magic. A ninety-five-year-old Battle Mage, supernatural lawman, and professional hunter of things that go bump in the night.

And right now, I'm hunting one of twelve ancient demons accidentally unleashed upon the world.

This one's hiding somewhere in the Arizona desert.

My backup?

A sarcastic ghost named Elvis, a three-foot-tall gnome driving a nineteen-foot Cadillac, and my questionable ability to survive situations that should have killed me decades ago.

What could possibly go wrong?

Plenty.

Giant scorpions are crawling out of the sand. People are disappearing. Ordinary townsfolk are experiencing impossible miracles. And a mysterious young waitress with a hidden magical gift is being tempted by something ancient, patient, and terrifyingly persuasive.

The deeper I investigate, the stranger things get.

Because this demon doesn't need to conquer the world.

It doesn't need to burn down cities or slaughter innocent people.

It just needs someone to say yes.

And the people of Pinon Wells are running out of reasons to say no.

I've fought witches, warlocks, trolls, and monsters that could tear a man apart before he finished screaming.

But how do you fight an enemy that gives people exactly what they want?

And how do you save someone who doesn't believe she needs saving?

In the desert, wishes have teeth. Miracles come with a price. And even a lucky wizard can make a deal he'll regret forever.
