If you were ill tomorrow, would your family know where everything is? For £5, this UK organiser puts it all in one place: who to call first, which banks and pensions you have, what's insured, which bills to cancel and who to tell, so they don't hit a brick wall. Excel and Google Sheets, plus a printable A4 version to fill in by hand.

It's an hour or two now that could save them days of searching later. You write down where things are, never the passwords or full account numbers.

What you get:

- Summary: a one-page view of everything that's filled in, with your review date and a reminder if it's overdue

- Contact first: the people to call, in order, and whether each one knows where this file is

- Documents: where the originals are kept (will, LPA, deeds, policies, spare keys)

- Bank and savings, pensions (workplace, personal and State Pension) and insurance, with only the last 4 digits of any account

- Bills and subscriptions: mortgage or rent, council tax, energy, phones, streaming and every direct debit, with the monthly total and which ones to cancel

- Debts and credit cards, income and benefits, employer and HMRC details, property and vehicles

- Digital accounts: where to find them and how your password manager's emergency access works (no passwords in the file)

- Wishes and legal: where the will and Lasting Power of Attorney are kept, and your funeral wishes

- People and pets: who looks after children, dependants and pets

- First steps: a first 7 days checklist (registering a death, Tell Us Once, the funeral, probate basics, Bereavement Support Payment)

- Who to tell: what Tell Us Once covers, who you have to tell yourself, and your bills to cancel, listed automatically

- Review log, a printable A4 workbook and a START-HERE guide

Works with: Google Sheets and Excel, on a computer or phone. No macros. For households in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, with notes where the steps differ.

FAQ

Is this a will or a legal document? No. It's an organiser that tells your family where things are. For a will or a Lasting Power of Attorney, get proper advice.

Is it safe to keep? Keep it somewhere secure, like a password-protected file, an encrypted drive or a locked drawer, and tell one trusted person where it is. Never put in PINs, passwords or full account numbers.

How often should I update it? Every few months, or when something changes. There's a review-date cell and a last-updated prompt.

Are the UK steps up to date? Every GOV.UK and MoneyHelper step was checked on 5 October 2026, and the sources are listed in START-HERE.
